Training for infertility under Dr.B.N Chakravathy at Kokatta in 1986.
Undergone training in Ultrasonography in Chennai, with Prof. Arcot Gajraj at Apollo Hospitals and with Dr.Suresh at Mediscan Systems also trained in Ohio State University USA and in Christ Church Hospital, New York with Dr.Frederick Zuspan and Dr.Michael Blumenfield. Clinical observer in National University Hospital, Singapore with Prof Arulkumaran also underwent advanced training in Ultrasound at Tokyo.
She is practicing as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine in Sooriya Hospital from inception in 1991 till date.
Main area of interest lies in the management of infertile couples.
Deeply interested in the extensive work up of the infertile female partner. This mainly centers around Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopic Procedures and Laparotomy, Hysterosonography, Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopic procedures.
This is followed by Follicular Monitoring and Intra uterine insemination. In-vitro fertilization and Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection are extremely sophisticated procedures involving a dedicated team work, being practiced here since ten years now.
Preventive Oncology in the form of cancer cervix screening which incorporates PAP Smears and video Colposcopy are routinely done.

As an Obstetrician very highly involved in conducting as many normal labours as possible equipped with all facilities for a safe motherhood with CTG, Epidurals and well supported by Neonatal Intensive Care unit.
High risk pregnant patients like Diabetes Mellitus, PIH, Anaemia, Twins, SLE, ITP complicating pregnancy are dealt with by a dedicated team.
A large number of teenagers troop in with a wide of variety of adolescent gynaecological problems which have been handled with care and concern.
Family planning procedures including temporary and permanent methods of sterilization are being offered for both partners.
Hysterectomy is practiced here depending on the need for and type of individual requirements. They include Vaginal Hysterectomy, Abdominal Hyterectomy, LAVH. An alternative to Hyterectomy is the use of the ENDOMETRIAL BALLOON THERAPY which was started here and completed the largest series so far. There is no knife and no suture, the uterus remains… but her problem of excessive bleeding is stopped once and for all. This however entails a proper patient selection and connot be offered for all patients with excessive bleeding.
There is a special population comprising about a third of the total out patients which belong to the peri menopausal age group. They are seeking relief from a horde of gynec problems typically like over bleeding or bleeding in short intervals or excessive back pain.
Sexual problems are also a major complaint in this age group. A small compartment of them are given in to psychosomatic disorders. With compassion and gentle care and an in depth study of their problems they are handled deftly involving a team of psychiatrists as and when required.
Conducted a pilot study with about 60 patients in the post menopausal age group with a low Bone Mineral Density using ACTONEL 35, a Bisphosphonate.
Case trials were done using LACTACYD as a feminine hygiene product in the management of Leucorrhoea. About 600 patients with RU 486 for Medical termination of Pregnancy were done.
Short course trial on 40 patients for the use of Tranexamic Acid and Ethamsy late for control of menorrhagia was done. A wider series was done using Misoprostol for labour induction.
The post menopausal women constitute a small group of the entire gynaec patients and they are followed up annually with complete physical examinations and breast and cervical cancer screening.
